Creating Stronger Communities Through Empowerment & Equity

Founded in 1996, Prerna Gram Vikas Sanstha (PGVS) is a registered non-government organisation headquartered at Ralegaon, Yavatmal, Maharashtra. What began as grassroots work across 10 tribal villages has grown into a movement touching over 90 villages across Yavatmal and Wardha districts.

For nearly three decades, PGVS has stood alongside rural women, farmers, tribal communities, and persons with disabilities — building livelihoods, restoring dignity, and nurturing self-reliance. We have promoted 965 Self-Help Groups with nearly 15,000 members, established Disability Persons’ Organisations, and championed environmentally friendly farming practices.

As an active member of the MAKAM Women Farmer Rights Forum, PGVS remains committed to one enduring belief — that lasting change begins when the most marginalised are placed at the very centre of development.

Mission

To empower marginalised women, persons with disabilities, and rural farming communities through sustainable livelihoods, skill development, and inclusive growth — fostering dignity, self-reliance, and lasting social transformation at the grassroots level.

Vision

A just and equitable rural India where every woman, farmer, and person with disability lives with dignity, economic independence, and equal access to opportunity and growth.

Objectives

To build resilient rural communities by enabling sustainable livelihoods, strengthening women’s leadership, promoting inclusive agriculture, and ensuring marginalised individuals access resources, markets, and their rightful place in society.

President’s Message

For nearly three decades, Prerna Gram Vikas Sanstha has been built on one simple conviction — that real development begins at the doorstep of those most forgotten. Every woman who stands taller, every farmer who harvests hope, every person with disability who earns with pride — they are our greatest achievement.

We began in 10 villages. Today, we walk with 90. But our journey is far from over.

As we look ahead, we remain rooted in the same values that founded us — compassion, dignity, and the unshakeable belief that every life holds extraordinary potential.
